A debeaking machine is a poultry farming equipment primarily used for cutting the beak of poultry birds. It’s commonly used by poultry farmers to reduce cannibalism, egg cracking, feather pecking and other fatality or losses that may otherwise occur especially among layer birds. The complete machine is composed of a handle, a transformer, a movable debeaking blade, a cooling exhaust fan, a 2.5 meter cord among other necessary components. It is a must have tool for all commercial poultry farmers.

Using the machine:

Turn on the switch and adjust the temperature of the movable blade till it looks reddish or bright.

• When the movable blade glows, start the motor switch.
• Adjust the aperture of the micro cutter blade according to the beak size.
• Hold the chicken’s feet with the left hand, the neck with the right thumb, and pin the throat with the forefinger of the right hand. Stick the beak of the chicken into the aperture.

It is noteworthy that the bleeding will normally stop within 2 to 4 seconds after trimming the beak
